Total Osteopathic care for the whole family. Specialising in a Biodynamic approach to Cranial Osteopathy. Supporting the health, finding the cause.
Ryrie Street Osteopathy is a family oriented Osteopathic practice in Geelong. We offer gentle and effective Osteopathic care for everyone's needs. We specialise in Biodynamic Osteopathy, which is a unique treatment approach suitable for everyone from babies and children, through to adults and elderly.
Osteopathy is a service capable of treating all levels of illness. It is a beautiful gift that harnesses the body's constant movement towards normal; its innate capacity to heal. As Osteopaths, we are trained to use our hands to diagnose and treat the patient as a whole. We understand that the body needs to be viewed as a single unit if we are to find true cause.
Most importantly, here at Ryrie Street Osteopathy, we are here to help you get well.
Dr. Dale Wilson, Dr. Jessica Weatherall, and Dr. Faye Kendall
Dale grew up in the cold and comforting surrounds of Victoria's rugged south west. Consequently he likes to spend lots of time outside exploring, and has a serious affilation with all things nature. Serious. He loves plants, growing them, looking at them, smelling them, and he also loves animals, all of them... He and his wife Jackie have 2 chocolate labradors (whom you will meet in the clinic if you mention that you like dogs). Food, music, culture, and any expression of life in a unique artistic fashion will light up Dale's eyes.
Dale feels like he didn't find Osteopathy, it found him. Learning the principles for the first time was like meeting a friend for the first time that you feel like you have known forever. It just made sense, and felt right. He graduated in 2004 from RMIT in Melbourne, then headed for the sunny shores of Queensland. The surf is better in Victoria, so he packed up after a few years and headed back down south. He has been here in Geelong since 2007, and is having a great time meeting and treating wonderful patients and exploring the natural world in the area. Dale loves life.
Jess grew up in the vast expanses of far east gippsland. Her childhood revolved around green open pastures, and an intimate relationship with the outside world. She loves music, is forever learning to play guitar (a seriously hard instrument to master), and has an equally serious affiliation for all things coffee. Her vegie patch is slowly growing, as is her desire to run bare foot. That's right, bare foot, and long distances... Fun for some.
Jess also graduated in 2004, and popped over the tasman to our neighbours in NZ. After 3 years in New Zealand, Jess felt change in her bones and responded by heading to the beautiful historical town of Edinburgh in Scotland, where she started her own Osteopathic practice and enrolled in an intensive 4 year paediatric program in Biodynamic Osteopathy held in Switzerland. Jess loves Osteopathy. Her dedication and love for Osteopathy have made her the gifted Osteopath she was always destined to become. We love having her around.
Faye is the NKOTB (new kid on the block for anyone who didn't exist in the 80's). She grew up in Melbourne, and funnily enough has an equally strong affection for nature and the water as her co-workers. A common thread. Faye has done some extensive travels in her time since graduating from RMIT in 2008, living in London for 12 months, and then settling into the sunshine and warmth of Brisbane's lifestyle for the past 3 years.
Over this time, Faye has worked in some highly reputable and busy Osteopathic clinics, getting great personal clinical experience as well as tremendous knowledge from some highly experienced associates. Faye was a little over the on again off again weather that Brisbane was offering, and felt Victoria calling her back. The move home soon ensued, and lucky for us the coast was the place where her heart pointed to. We are blessed to have an Osteopath of Faye's skill and knowledge joining us here, but moreover, we are blessed to have Faye. We will post more about her as we find out all the things she doesn't want us to know over the coming months... Watch this space.
